Golf Questions

Below are a few golf questions that we are frequently asked. If you do not see your question answered below, please contact us here.

Is Colonial Charters a public course?

Yes, we’re a public course with a large – and growing – membership. Consider joining us as a member!

How would you characterize Colonial Charters today?

Colonial Charters is back like it used to be when it first opened in 1988: a locals-friendly country club for the general public. Our “shotmaker’s course with options” is beginner-friendly and caters especially to women, juniors, and seniors. It’s a destination course for people who want to go to someplace relaxing, where they can kick back and enjoy their time with friends and family.

With all that water, how many forced carries are there?

Only one forced carry. Most of the water is located either to the left or the right and then probably on your approach shot to the greens.

Do juniors play free?

Yes, juniors age 16 and under play free with a paying adult.

Do you have a practice facility?

Yes, we have a chipping and putting green, there is no driving range.

Do you honor discount cards?

Yes, we honor most of the local discount cards, including Myrtle Beach Golf Passport, Prime Time card, and Prime Time Honors.

What kind of grass do you use?

We use TifDwarf Bermuda.

Do you offer lessons?

Yes, we have PGA staff available for lessons.
